Denton, Texas — Gas prices in the Dallas area averaged $3.9114 per gallon for regular unleaded on September 30, 2026, according to AAA, up from $3.8284 yesterday. That is down from $3.9500 a week ago and higher than $3.7440 a month ago.
The statewide average in Texas stands at $3.9270, while the national average is $4.4343. Drivers in the Dallas area are paying below the state average and below the national average.
The Dallas average remains below its AAA recorded high of $4.8370. Regular prices are about 17 cents higher than a month ago. Compared with a year ago, when the metro average was $2.7058, drivers are paying about 121 cents more per gallon.
Diesel in the Dallas area averages $5.7744 per gallon, AAA reported.
