Denton, Texas — Gas prices in the Dallas area averaged $3.9340 per gallon for regular unleaded on October 5, 2026, according to AAA, down from $3.9462 yesterday. That is up from $3.8535 a week ago but higher than $3.6297 a month ago.
The statewide average in Texas stands at $3.9052, while the national average is $4.3653. Drivers in the Dallas area are paying above the state average and below the national average.
The Dallas average remains below its AAA recorded high of $4.8370. Regular prices are about 30 cents higher than a month ago. Compared with a year ago, when the metro average was $2.9167, drivers are paying about 102 cents more per gallon.
Diesel in the Dallas area averages $5.6831 per gallon, AAA reported.
