With the final score locked in, Houston improved to an 80-81 record, while the Athletics fell to 64-97.

Early Offense Sets the Pace

The game’s momentum shifted quickly in the top of the first inning when Jose Paredes launched a 374-foot solo home run to left field, establishing an early lead for the away team. Jack Perkins took the loss for Sacramento, lasting five innings with nine strikeouts but surrendering six earned runs in five hits. Scott Blewett, Drew Rom, and Yunior Tur combined for the remaining innings, allowing six earned runs collectively in 3.2 innings.
