Denton police confirmed that a 43-year-old driver from Sanger died in a single-vehicle collision on a north Denton roadway near Lake Ray Roberts on Thursday morning.
Officers received dispatch calls around 6:58 a.m. regarding the accident. Police spokesperson Lacy Fenn identified the deceased as a Sanger resident who was traveling northbound on Farm to Market Road 2153 at Burger Road, approaching Cemetery Road.
According to an initial police report, the driver’s vehicle departed the roadway as the road began to curve westward. The car became airborne, passed through a fence, and struck two trees before coming to rest on its passenger side against another tree.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only person inside the vehicle.
