The Denton County Master Gardener Association (DCMGA) will host its first Garden and Nature Expo on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event takes place at the Denton County Administrative Courthouse in Denton.
The expo is a collaboration involving the Texas Master Gardeners, Texas Master Naturalists, Texas Parks and Wildlife, and the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. It features more than 70 interactive booths, exhibits, activities, and presentations designed for all ages.
Attendees can explore topics such as growing healthier gardens, attracting pollinators, composting, water conservation, and local wildlife. Organizations including Science with Attitude (SWAt) and 4-H will provide activities for children and information for parents. Texas Parks and Wildlife representatives will offer details about camping and exploring state parks.
The event is free and family-friendly. Additional details and a full list of exhibitors will be posted on dcmga.com in the coming weeks.
The DCMGA is also accepting applications for the Class of 2027 Denton County Master Gardener Intern Training Program. The application window runs from Aug. 28 through Oct. 9, 2026, via the dcmga.com website.
Interns receive training from Texas A&M AgriLife Extension specialists, county agents, and industry experts. The curriculum covers soils, trees, vegetables, insects, irrigation, plant diseases, native plants, and Earth-Kind sustainable gardening practices. All applicants must participate in an in-person interview as part of the selection process.
