Denton City Council will hold a public hearing Oct. 13 on proposed changes to the city’s data-center rules. The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, 215 E. McKinney St.
The proposed ordinance addresses which zoning districts may allow modular and warehouse data centers, standards for those uses and a definition of enterprise data centers, according to the city’s notice.
The Denton Record-Chronicle reported that the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended changes in a 5–0 vote. One proposed change would require specific-use permits for data-center developments that currently qualify by right.
The proposal has not yet been adopted. The city says the meeting agenda, staff analysis and exhibits will be available Oct. 7.
