The Frisco Wakeland Wolverines and Denton Guyer Wildcats face off tonight in Denton for their inaugural district contests. The matchup takes place at the C.H. Collins Complex and will be broadcast live on KDFI 27 (FOX 4+) and the free FOX LOCAL app.
Both teams enter the game with identical 2-1 records from non-district play. Wakeland opened its season with a loss to Richland before securing victories over Northwest and Rowlett. Guyer started strong with wins against Rockwall-Heath and Melissa, but suffered a defeat in its most recent outing against Waxahachie.
The broadcast features the returning commentary team of Doug Anderson and LaDarrin McLane, who are entering their 21st consecutive season calling North Texas high school football. Sideline reporter Chris Mycoskie joins the coverage for his seventh straight year.
The live telecast begins at 7 p.m. tonight. The station has outlined a schedule of weekly games for the upcoming weeks, including matchups between Fort Worth Benbrook and Eastern Hills on Oct. 1, and Trophy Club Byron Nelson at Keller on Oct. 8.
