Waxahachie travels to Denton on Thursday for a marquee matchup against Guyer, marking the first time these programs have faced each other in nearly twenty years. Both squads enter the game with perfect 2-0 records. The teams last met in 2010, when Guyer secured a 45-7 victory.

The contest begins at 7 p.m. Central Time at C.H. Collins Athletic Complex in Denton. Fans can view the game via a live broadcast on the NFHS Network. The network also offers an on-demand feature for replays and a multiviewer option that allows viewers to watch up to four simultaneous games.

Guyer has built its early season identity around a strong ground game, accumulating 178 rushing yards across its first two contests. Five different players have scored touchdowns for the Wildcats. The defensive line features three recruits committed to Power Four programs: defensive lineman Zane Rowe to Oregon, Darrien Neal to TCU, and Khyren Haywood to Texas Tech.

Waxahachie opened its season with a 72-point win over Ennis before holding off Coppell 27-24 in a closer contest last week. Running back Taylen Strange was instrumental in the narrow victory, carrying the ball 30 times for 257 yards and five touchdowns through two games. He rushed for 136 yards and three scores in the Coppell game alone.

Quarterback Jerry Meyer III, who has committed to South Carolina, has provided aerial support by completing 68 percent of his passes. He has thrown for 537 yards and six touchdowns while throwing two interceptions.
