Denton plans to add an all-way stop at Riney and Hardaway roads and make pedestrian-crossing changes at Discovery Boulevard, according to the city’s Oct. 2 staff report.

Transportation staff evaluated a request for pedestrian refuge islands along Riney Road but did not recommend them at this time because of cost and drainage effects. The planned stop at Hardaway, closer to Reeves Elementary School, is the alternative described in the report.

At Discovery Boulevard, staff plan to modify accessibility ramps and add crosswalk markings and pedestrian-activated flashing beacons after the Riney Road project is completed.

The report does not give an installation date for either change. The improvements are planned; the notice does not say they are already in place.

The city’s Oct. 2 Friday Staff Report, page 5, item C, provides the crossing update: https://lfpubweb.cityofdenton.com/PublicWebLink/ElectronicFile.aspx?docid=77077&dbid=4&repo=Public
