Bear Acy, a five-star basketball prospect ranked No. 7 nationally in the 2029 class, has received an offer from Baylor, according to SI.com. He has not announced a decision, and additional offers are likely for the highly ranked prospect.
Acy is listed at 6 feet, 7 inches. He is described as having the size to help on both ends of the court, with the ability to defend the rim, disrupt passing lanes and produce blocked shots and deflections.
The offer connects Acy to his father, Quincy Acy, who played forward at Baylor from 2008 through 2012. Quincy Acy earned All-Big 12 Defensive Team recognition for the 2011-12 season and was known for scoring, rebounding and shot blocking around the basket. Baylor coach Scott Drew coached him throughout those four seasons after becoming the program’s head coach in 2003.
Before that, Drew was an assistant under his father, Hall of Fame coach Homer Drew, at Valparaiso. It is unclear whether Baylor’s relationship with Quincy Acy will affect Bear Acy’s decision.
