DJ Lagway is not expected to play when Baylor faces Louisiana Tech, but a report from On3 Sports says the quarterback is progressing toward a possible return against Colorado on Sept. 26. Pete Nakos reported that Lagway is on track for the matchup with Colorado and coach Deion Sanders, while noting that the report did not establish whether he will play.
Lagway was injured in Baylor’s 17-16 season-opening defeat against Auburn. Sources previously cited by On3 Sports said the junior sustained a high-ankle sprain, and coach Dave Aranda characterized his status as day-to-day earlier in the week. Lagway then sat out Baylor’s 44-3 win over Prairie View.
Baylor is scheduled to play Louisiana Tech before beginning Big 12 competition against Colorado. ClutchPoints reported that the timing of Lagway’s availability is still unsettled, aside from the indication that his recovery is moving toward the Colorado game.
