The Rio game is set for 5:25 p.m. local time, with the city one hour ahead of Eastern Time. Based on the schedule described by CBS Sports, the teams could leave Brazil after midnight. Dallas' flight home is expected to take more than 10 hours, potentially bringing the Cowboys back near noon on Monday.
In Week 4, Dallas is scheduled to visit the Houston Texans, while Baltimore is set to host the Tennessee Titans.
Previous teams making similar journeys had extra rest. The Rams traveled 5,456 miles to London last season before a bye, while the Rams and 49ers covered more than 7,800 miles to Australia in Week 1 and had at least 10 days before their next games. The two earlier NFL games in Brazil also occurred in Week 1.
Before Dallas' trip, Denver's 4,670-mile London flight in Week 6 last season was the longest without a following bye. CBS Sports also cited Miami's 2021 journey of at least 4,400 miles, followed by a loss to Jacksonville in London and a comeback win in its next game.
