Texas defensive lineman Hero Kanu was selected as a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, according to an announcement from the National Football Foundation on Sept. 23. The source did not release additional information about Kanu’s selection.
The award honors a scholarship athlete based on academic performance, on-field play and leadership. Texas has had a finalist for the honor in each of the last two seasons. Linebacker Trey Moore was a finalist in 2025, after center Jake Majors reached that stage in 2024.
