North Texas has announced a 13-game nonconference schedule for the 2026-27 men's basketball season, including nine games at the Super Pit in Denton. University of North Texas Athletics said the slate was released by the program and second-year head coach Daniyal Robinson.
The Mean Green will open against Southwest Christian on Nov. 2, beginning a four-game homestand. McNeese will visit on Nov. 5, followed by Santa Clara on Nov. 11 and South Alabama on Nov. 14. McNeese and Santa Clara reached the 2025-26 NCAA Tournament, while South Alabama played in the NIT.
The schedule includes three opponents from last season's NCAA Tournament and two that appeared in the NIT.
North Texas will play its first road game Nov. 20 against App State in Boone, North Carolina. The team will then take part in the Snake Rivers Invitational in Idaho Falls, Idaho, from Nov. 27 through Nov. 29. Its listed opponents at the event are Drake, North Dakota State and Boise State.
The Mean Green will return to Texas for the final six nonconference games, with five scheduled in Denton. Bradley is set for Dec. 4, followed by Mississippi Valley State on Dec. 6. North Texas will play Texas State on Dec. 13 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth as part of the Coast-to-Coast Challenge, marking the second consecutive year the program has participated in that event.
