DeMarvion Overshown will be one of four Dallas Cowboys defenders unavailable Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens in Brazil. Safety P.J. Locke, safety Malik Hooker and cornerback Cobie Durant also have been ruled out. Three of the four are defensive starters, while Locke is the team’s third safety and a main reserve.
None of the players took part in practice during the week, and all four remained in the United States rather than traveling to Brazil. Baltimore’s offense includes quarterback Lamar Jackson and running back Derrick Henry. Dallas ranked in the bottom three of the NFL in total defense last season, and after two games this season it ranks 29th out of 32 teams.
Stephen Jones, the Cowboys’ executive vice president, said Overshown and Hooker may have an opportunity to play in Week 4 at the Houston Texans. Overshown has a hamstring injury, and Hooker is coming back from a fractured forearm. Both injuries happened in the season opener against the Giants, and both players sat out Dallas’ Week 2 win over Washington.
