Nico Collins’ status for Houston’s Week 2 game against the Cincinnati Bengals remains undecided after the Texans wide receiver missed Thursday and Friday practices with a hamstring injury. He was injured during Wednesday’s workout, and the team had not established his official game status.
NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that Houston’s doctors did not view the injury as serious. Ian Rapoport made a similar assessment Friday on *The Pat McAfee Show*, but said missing two straight practices weakened Collins’ chances of playing.
Collins, 27, began the 2026 season with seven catches for 75 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets during Houston’s 36-31 loss to the Buffalo Bills. He had surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in each of the prior three seasons.
ClutchPoints.com reported that his availability was still unresolved and said he could potentially return for Houston’s Week 3 game against the Indianapolis Colts on Sept. 27 if he does not play against Cincinnati.
