Nico Collins’ status for Houston’s Week 3 game against the Indianapolis Colts remains unresolved after the wide receiver missed a second straight practice with a hamstring injury. The Texans still had one practice left before Sunday’s matchup, and the team had not announced a final decision on his availability.
Collins hurt the hamstring while preparing for Week 2 and was sidelined against the Cincinnati Bengals. In Houston’s 36-31 loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 1, the 27-year-old caught seven passes for 75 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets.
Should Collins be unable to play at Lucas Oil Stadium, Jaylin Noel, Xavier Hutchinson and Kayshon Boutte could see more work at receiver. Tight end Dalton Schultz has produced Houston’s most downfield receiving yardage through two games, with 16 catches for 175 yards. Collins’ next possible game would be Week 4, when the Texans are scheduled to host the Dallas Cowboys.
He has reached 1,000 receiving yards or more in each of the last three seasons, with 1,117 yards in 2025, putting that run at risk. Collins, who previously played for the Michigan Wolverines, also received an offseason contract adjustment from Houston.
