Trent Brown was back on the Houston Texans’ practice field Thursday, putting the right tackle in position to remain the starter against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 3. Brown has opened both of Houston’s regular-season games at the position after being chosen for the role when Braden Smith sustained a preseason foot injury. Smith is on injured reserve through the season’s first four weeks.
Brown had been listed with wrist and knee injuries and did not take part in the previous session. His work through two games includes four penalties, eight pressures and one sack. If his progress continues before Sunday’s game, he could return as the Texans’ established starter at right tackle.
Blake Fisher and Nate Thomas are listed as the other options behind him. Fisher was a 2024 second-round selection, while Thomas arrived in a trade during roster cutdowns.
Nico Collins was absent again, marking his second practice missed this week and his fourth straight missed session since his injury. The available report contains no further information about Collins’ status.
