The TCU Horned Frogs will host the Northwestern State Demons on September 2, 2028, at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas. The arrangement includes a $600,000 guarantee for Northwestern State, as outlined in a contract obtained through public records.
This matchup will be the second time the two teams have met in football, following their only previous game in 2001, where Northwestern State triumphed over TCU 27-24 in overtime. Northwestern State University, located in Natchitoches, Louisiana, competes in the Southland Conference within the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) and is currently under the leadership of head coach Blaine McCorkle.
The addition of this game completes TCU's non-conference schedule for the 2028 season. TCU will begin its season at home against Louisiana on August 26 and will play at Duke on September 9. The Big 12 Conference has yet to announce the specific conference opponents for that season, but TCU is projected to have five home games and four road games.
Additionally, Northwestern State is scheduled to host Central Arkansas on September 16, 2028.
