An indoor amusement center with trampolines, a ninja course and a restaurant and bar is scheduled to open Friday, Oct. 30, inside Golden Triangle Mall, the biggest of several new businesses arriving in Denton this fall.

Launch Family Entertainment will occupy over 30,000 square feet of the mall, the Denton Record-Chronicle reported. A company press release cited by the newspaper also lists virtual reality, arcade games, MultiBall and ValoArena, a full-body mixed-reality game area. The franchise owner is Satwinderpal Singh, a local businessman whose earlier ventures were gas stations, convenience stores and quick-service restaurants.

Once Denton opens, Launch will have four Texas locations: Lewisville, Arlington, Houston and Denton.

Recently opened

The Record-Chronicle's monthly roundup of openings and closings, published Sunday, lists these Denton additions:

  • Smithers Smokehouse, from Cody Smithers, a former co-owner of Bet the House BBQ, is serving barbecue at 300 E. Hickory St., at Industrial Street. Bet the House's barbecue egg rolls are on the menu.
  • Cream Bunny Bakery Cafe opened in September at 314 E. Hickory St., Suite 111, facing Russell Street, with pastries, doughnuts, drinks, breakfast and lunch.
  • Overworld Collectibles, 527 N. Elm St., sells video games, comic books and toys, buys and trades games and hosts gaming events.
  • Nandi's, an Indian restaurant, opened Sept. 17 at 508 S. Elm St., Suite 105.
  • Scarvelli's Italian Restaurant moved into the former Milpa space at 820 S. Interstate 35E, Suite 101.
  • Gracent Pediatric Therapy, 2459 Fort Worth Drive, held a grand opening Sept. 26.

Coming and changing

A sign at 717 S. I-35E, Suite 100, near Teasley Lane, where Foodistaan used to be, says Taqueria El Zacatecano is on the way.

At 301 S. Locust St., True Leaf Studio is moving its plant sales to occasional pop-ups so Triptych Coffee Co., which runs a coffee cart in the building, can expand. The tattoo artists working there and True Leaf's recurring markets are staying.

Korean restaurant The Taste, 408 N. Texas Blvd., has closed for now under new ownership and plans a menu centered on Korean barbecue bowls; it has not set a reopening date. KashKan Dhaba is serving again at 703 Londonderry Lane, with indoor and outdoor seating, after being closed for a time.
