Six hospitalized with serious injuries after multi-vehicle crash on West University Drive

Six people were taken to hospitals with serious injuries after a crash involving several vehicles Saturday evening, Oct. 31, on the west side of Denton, police said.

Officers and firefighters were sent to the crash at about 7:54 p.m. in the 8400 block of West University Drive, according to the Denton Police Department, as reported by WFAA. Police said on Facebook that the crash happened near the Parker haunted house attraction, WFAA reported.

Police have not said what caused the crash, how many vehicles were involved or the condition of those hurt beyond describing their injuries as serious. No names have been released, and no deaths were reported.

Road closures

Eastbound University Drive and Willow Lane were reopening Saturday night, but westbound lanes of U.S. 380 in the area were expected to stay closed while police investigated, WFAA reported. West University Drive carries U.S. 380 through Denton. Drivers were asked to use other routes.
