Mavericks Extend Lead Early
Kyrie Irving anchored a balanced offensive attack for the visiting Dallas Mavericks, who defeated the Indiana Pacers 121-105 on Friday, Oct. 23, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The road team established a commanding presence from the opening tip, outscoring the home squad 44-27 in the first quarter. Irving finished with 24 points, while Naji Marshall facilitated the offense with six assists.
P.J. Washington provided a physical presence on the glass, securing 13 rebounds for Dallas.
Pacers Struggle Offensively
The Indiana Pacers, playing at home, found it difficult to generate consistent scoring runs against the Mavericks' defense. Pascal Siakam led the way for Indiana with 23 points, but the team could not overcome the deficit built in the first half. Tyrese Haliburton contributed seven assists, while Ivica Zubac grabbed 11 rebounds.
Despite these efforts, the Pacers were held to 16 points in the second quarter, extending Dallas's advantage to 70-40 at halftime. The home team managed only 27 points in the first quarter and struggled to find rhythm against the visiting defense.
