Denton police have stated that there were no apparent indicators of criminal activity in the death of a man discovered in a vacant lot in the downtown area. The incident occurred on Saturday, with officers responding to a report of a deceased individual in the 200 block of East Oak Street at approximately 11:48 a.m.
A member of the public located the body near a chain-link fence situated at the southeast corner of 212 E. Oak St. Upon arrival, investigators examined the scene and the decedent. Their preliminary findings indicated a lack of visible trauma on the body and no suspicious conditions at the location.
As of Monday afternoon, the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office had not released the identity of the deceased. The department has not provided further details regarding the cause of death or the individual's background.
In a separate report covering the same Saturday period, from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m., the Denton Police Department logged 405 service and officer-initiated calls. During that timeframe, officers made 10 arrests.
