The 2026 North Texas Giving Day campaign collected more than $76 million from 94,700 donors by midnight on Sept. 17. Communities Foundation of Texas organized the event, which was held for the 18th time. Dallas, about 35 miles southeast of Denton, issued a proclamation naming Sept. 17, 2026, as North Texas Giving Day.
The money was distributed among more than 3,300 nonprofits operating across 25 areas, including education, health, social services, arts, environmental work and animal welfare. The preliminary 2026 amount was higher than the $74.2 million given by 94,000 donors at the comparable point in 2025. After contributions were processed through Sept. 30, the 2025 campaign ultimately totaled $78 million.
Donors have contributed $788 million to North Texas nonprofits since the event started in 2009. Amazon, the presenting sponsor, also gave funds to 15 nonprofits taking part. Communities Foundation of Texas and its sponsors covered transaction and technology fees for gifts made through NorthTexasGivingDay.org, so the entire tax-deductible contribution went to the nonprofit selected by the donor.
The website stays active year-round for cause campaigns, matching fundraisers, corporate group gifts and nonprofit-led fundraising. The next event is set for Sept. 16, 2027. Local Profile reported the totals and event information.
