Angela Stanford is returning to TCU in a coaching role after joining the university's women's golf staff as an assistant coach. Stanford's hometown is Saginaw, which is about 15 miles from Fort Worth.
Stanford played for the Horned Frogs from 1996 through 2000 and earned All-American recognition four times. No other player in TCU women's golf history has received that honor four times, and Stanford's 10 victories remain the program record.
Her hiring followed Stanford's recent service as the U.S. captain at the Solheim Cup. TCU head coach Ravaioli-Larkin said, "We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Angela Stanford back home to TCU as our third coach." Ravaioli-Larkin also pointed to Stanford's background as a major champion and her work leading the U.S. Solheim Cup team. TCU did not provide additional information about Stanford's duties.
