The Houston Texans evaluated linebacker Kenneth Murray on Tuesday as they seek assistance following a shoulder injury to Henry To'oTo'o. To'oTo'o has been placed on injured reserve and is anticipated to be out for several months. In response, the Texans have also promoted linebacker Jamal Hill from the practice squad to the active roster.
Murray, who is 27 years old, was drafted 23rd overall by the Los Angeles Chargers in 2020 after achieving All-American status at Oklahoma. He later joined the Tennessee Titans in 2024, where he led the team in tackles. The Dallas Cowboys acquired him from Tennessee the following offseason in exchange for two draft picks.
Last season, he started all 16 games for Dallas, recording 81 tackles, four tackles for loss, two pass breakups, one sack, and one fumble recovery, finishing second on the team in tackles.
Murray has also worked out for the Miami Dolphins and New York Giants since the offseason began. While the Texans could consider him for practice-squad depth, no contract agreement was reported. Houston's next game is against the Cincinnati Bengals at Reliant Stadium.
