Thomas Castellanos emerged as a key offensive weapon for the Red Raiders, rushing for two touchdowns and also throwing a touchdown pass in the final quarter to seal the victory.
Second-quarter surge sets tone
Both teams were scoreless in the first quarter, but the second period saw an exchange of points. Texas Tech struck first on a seven-yard run by Thomas Castellanos, with Stone Harrington adding the extra point to make it 7-0. Oregon State responded with a 75-yard pass from Braden Atkinson to Jesse Legree, tying the game at 7-7.
The Red Raiders then extended their lead on a one-yard run by Cameron Dickey, with Harrington’s kick making the score 14-7 at halftime. This early advantage proved crucial as the game progressed.
