Denton police have arrested Jose Luis Alvarez Williams, the owner of a local barbershop, following allegations that he installed a hidden camera in the establishment’s women’s restroom.

Williams, 37, turned himself in on Thursday. He is now facing charges for invasive visual recording. The investigation began in early August after an employee reported finding a concealed cellphone inside a box within the bathroom of the Elm Street location.

According to police, the victim, who works at the business, noticed a camera lens pointed toward the toilet area. Upon further inspection, she located the device hidden inside a container. Investigators determined that Williams was responsible for placing the equipment there.

Details regarding the specific legal proceedings or potential sentencing are not yet clear. The Denton Police Department provided the information regarding the arrest and charges.
