Nate Bennett will make his second consecutive start for Baylor when the Bears face Louisiana Tech on Saturday. DJ Lagway will miss the matchup because of an ankle injury.
Bennett passed for 314 yards and produced four touchdowns in Baylor’s game against Prairie View A&M last week. He also threw two interceptions. Lagway, a transfer from Florida, was listed as doubtful for the Louisiana Tech game after sitting out against Prairie View A&M.
Lagway suffered the injury during Baylor’s season-opening loss to Auburn. Louisiana Tech will also have a new quarterback. Blake Baker, the Bulldogs’ starter, is unavailable with a hand injury, and Trey Kukuk will take the opening assignment. ESPN.com reported the quarterback updates.
