DJ Lagway remains doubtful for Baylor’s Week 3 matchup with Louisiana Tech after an ankle sprain sidelined him in the Bears’ victory over Prairie View A&M. Lagway sustained the injury in Baylor’s season-opening defeat against Auburn, appearing in that game after joining the program from Florida.

Baylor coach Dave Aranda said Lagway participated in a Monday walkthrough and would be evaluated through his practice work. The injury is not expected to keep him out for a month or more, but his availability in an emergency against Louisiana Tech has not been determined. On3’s Pete Nakos reported that Baylor hopes Lagway can return for its Big 12 opener against Colorado next Saturday.

Nate Bennett is projected to start if Lagway cannot play. The junior made his first start against Prairie View A&M, completing 26 passes on 34 attempts for 314 yards and three touchdowns. He added 13 rushing yards and a touchdown, but also threw two interceptions. Edward Griffin is listed as QB2 on the depth chart, followed by Quinn Murphy at QB3. Source: fansided.com
